Le primarie democratiche del 2020 non avranno precedenti. È probabile che il numero di candidati anti-Trump batta tutti i record storici, non ci sono vincitori sicuri in vista e la posta in gioco non potrebbe essere più alta. Non si tratta solo del fatto che molti democratici sostengono che Donald Trump sia una minaccia per la democrazia americana. Se sono troppi e si spostano troppo a sinistra, non lo batteranno mai.
Forse il favorito potrebbe essere l’ex vicepresidente di Obama, Joe Biden (che ancora non ha annunciato nulla). Ma richiama il vecchio establishment, e’ vecchio lui stesso, e bianco. Ci sono poi un numero record di donne, mai accaduto prima.
